Seattle Irish Dance Company is fiscally sponsored by Shunpike, a 501 (c)3 non-profit agency that empowers artists through equitable access to vital expertise, opportunities, and business services.

Founded in 2012 by sisters Carlye and Kelsi Cunniff, Margery Pulkkinen and Taryn Farley, Seattle Irish Dance Company is a professional performance company that aims to inspire and develop community for Irish dance performers and audience members.

Our mission is to provide professional opportunities for Irish dancers in the Seattle area to develop their performance skills through innovative choreographies. We aim to spread the joy of Irish dance to our community as well as promote Irish dance as a modern, evolving art form.

We bring Irish dance to communities across the Pacific Northwest ranging from lively Irish pubs and music festivals to large stage productions. Seattle Irish Dance Company regularly performs with local musicians such as the Stout Pounders, Coming Up Threes and Geoffrey Castle. We’ve danced at venues including Seattle’s Paramount Theatre, Benaroya Hall, Climate Pledge Arena, and on the famous cabaret spiegeltent of Teatro Zinzanni.

Our Values

Irish dance as art. We are grounded in tradition, but push boundaries as a contemporary performance art. We respect our roots, but we’re not limited by them. Irish dance is influenced by and influences other movement forms.

Community matters. We believe that dance is for everyone and moving together is magic. We create opportunities to perform, participate, and learn.

Movement with an open mind. Irish dance can be a full-body dance style. We provide the space to explore this idea through a variety of lenses, from lively pub shows to full stage productions.
